Frequently Asked Questions

Got questions? We’ve got answers. Whether you’re hiring your first postpartum nanny or exploring traditional confinement care, this guide covers what you need to know.

Do you service my area?

Yes, we provide postpartum nanny and confinement care services across the United States. Live-in care is available nationwide, and local options may vary by city.

How soon in advance should I start looking?

We recommend starting 3–4 months before your due date to ensure availability—especially for live-in and confinement nannies. Earlier booking increases your chances of securing your preferred caregiver.

How much does it cost?

Rates vary based on the type of care and whether meals are included. To get an accurate estimate, please use our Postpartum Care Cost Calculator.

What is a postpartum nanny?

A postpartum nanny provides expert newborn care, supports feeding and sleep routines, and helps new parents during the first few weeks after childbirth.

What is Chinese confinement care?

Chinese confinement care or zuò yuè zi is a traditional 30–40 day recovery period after childbirth, focused on rest, warming foods, and healing rituals.

Can I extend my nanny’s booking?

Yes, extensions are possible depending on availability. Additional charges and a 10% extension fee may apply.

What’s the difference between a night nurse and a postpartum nanny?

A night nurse focuses on overnight newborn care so parents can rest, while a postpartum nanny typically works during the day to support baby care, light housekeeping, and maternal recovery.

Do I need to provide housing and food for the nanny?

Yes, for live-in nannies, families must provide a private room and meals. If the nanny is preparing meals, additional meal stipends may apply if cooking for other family members.

Do your nannies speak English?

Many of our caregivers speak Mandarin or Cantonese, and some speak conversational English. We can prioritize your language preferences during the matching process.

How do I book a postpartum nanny?

Start by completing our Family Registration Form. We’ll match you with qualified nannies, arrange interviews, and guide you through the booking process.

What is your referral fee?

Our referral fee is 10% of the total booking amount. This fee is paid via Zelle or Venmo to reserve your chosen nanny.

What if I need to cancel?

If you cancel after securing a nanny, the referral fee is non-refundable. The security check will be given to the nanny as compensation for holding your spot.
